I hope that people don't mind me adding that BGP routing was added in 5.3, which is not CCNA material, but is CCNP. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.209.102.2 (talk) 00:00, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are the links at the bottom of the article pointing to pirated software? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.86.42.172 (talk) 13:33, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is no Pirated edition of software, because the software can be distributed by anyone who has taken the course. Mahadi22 (talk) 07:59, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New version is out.

[edit]

PT 6.0.1 has been out for a while now and it seems the Wikipedia article should be updated. I don't know much about the guidelines on how to edit Wikipedia articles, or where to source information, so I am leaving it up to somebody else with more expertise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.27.183 (talk) 20:14, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PT 6.1.1 has been officially out a week ago, so i'm adding 6.1.1 new feature and changing the current stable version to 6.1.1. Mahadi22 (talk) 07:55, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

PT 7.2 has been out, can someone with expertise in Wikipedia articles update the necessary information? I updated some minor things regarding PT 7.2.

The software is available to students who are taking Cisco Network Academy courses, which Cisco has cited as having over 800,000 students (and has also cited as having over 700,000 students). Although the software may have restricted distribution, this proprietary software is therefore notable. Presumably it is up to a class instructor to determine how much the class requires students to use Packet Tracer. In my experience going through a course, physical hardware was fairly available and so Packet Tracer did not get used a whole lot, but it did get used somewhat. As the Lead Instructor of an IT program of a private college which was not using the Cisco Network Academy courses, I remember a student request for this software. Many IT industry professionals have some familiarity with the software. It certainly seems conceivable that there is interest in this software and that people may want to learn more about it. 63.231.28.164 (talk) 16:47, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lead phrasing

[edit]

Looks like someone has leaned a bit too much on the primary source to create the lead for this article. ~KvnG 20:22, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
