it is one of the few (cheap, affordable) public golf courses in an area dominated by expensive, private golf courses
it was designed by Jack Neville, who also designed the Pebble Beach Golf Links golf course
Pacific Grove Golf Links has a reputation for being one of the best municipal golf courses in the State of California - it is dubbed "the poor man's Pebble Beach" for this reason
