Tone of Article

[edit]

It's a bit breathless in spots, no? Best to state "reportedly" re ancestry, since it is not backed up by other sources than Ganguli's statements to reporters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.126.251.150 (talk) 16:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is that speculation on your part? When a newspaper says "X's grandfather was Y", is there some reason to believe that the newspaper relied solely on X for that information? Certainly, if the story says "X said that his grandfather was Y", then adding "according to X" in the Wikipedia article is appropriate. But where a newspaper story doesn't qualify information, then why should Wikipedia? Newspapers do have fact checkers and reporters do talk to other sources, as well as research their own stories. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 16:44, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki guidelines

[edit]

This article is far from neutrality, and the notability of this person must also be properly discussed. What's more, the length and excessive detail of this article should be reviewed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.45.205.204 (talk) 12:51, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Below are reliable sources that establish notability. (Links are in the article itself, for those who want to check the sources themselves). So, no, the notability of this person does not need to be discussed; it's firmly established.
We should focus on important things - improving the article, specifically - and yes, it could be significantly improved. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 14:53, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is he an entrepreneur? What has he done exactly in culture? He hasn't founded any company or arts. He looks like he is into jewelry? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.30.92.65 (talk) 17:38, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
