I've removed the prod... This seems to be a notable thing (and it's just too funky to delete!). I'll have a go at talking some sense into it. Drett 18:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed prod for same reason as last time. To quote someone from the AfD: "The mothership concept was pretty important in Parliament lore, and is central to (and on the cover of) their Mothership Connection album, one of the most important albums of its time." All of the nonsense material has been cleaned out since then too. Drett 20:15, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't make sense to me, I'm wondering what the hell a "P-Funk Mothership" is and why it is blasphemously cluttering the spacecraft category when the only indication that it's a spaceship is some picture that is well nonsensical? - tagged for cleanup, will AfD if not cleaned up pretty soon. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 20:18, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The P-Funk Mothership isn't really blaspemously cluttering the fictional spacecraft category. It's a fictional spacecraft, so that's where it should go. Although it never appeared in any science fiction television shows, it does appear on the cover of the album Mothership Connection and in most Parliament/P-Funk stage shows. Parliament were arguably one of the most important funk/soul bands of the 70s, and Mothership Connection was arguably their best album. I think that the article explains fairly clearly that it's both a fictional concept and a physical stage prop, but if anyone can suggest a way to make that more clear? Provide citations then, your word is not good enough, also provide citations that it is a fictional spacecraft: I.e. from the fiction stating it goes into space and flies. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 16:26, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've suggested a merger, this does not even seem remotely notable for its own article. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 16:29, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I support this merger, and agree this article lacks notability. Chuchunezumi 19:17, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a P-Funk fan, I believe this article meets, and even exceeds, Wikipedia's quality standards.

Keep - cite some magazines if you have them. This article is good information on a hard to research topic. keep and expand. 202.134.253.187 17:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell, this used to be the best article on the whole damn site and now it's been dumbed down because some cry baby star trek fans couldn't appreciate the power of funk. screw you mack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.152.170.58 (talk) 08:23, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any specific suggestions for improving the article? — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 17:49, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

28 year disappearance of the Mothership

[edit]

Shouldn't there be a discussion that the Mothership was lost for some 28 years until recovered by the smithsonian?--108.31.97.199 (talk) 06:26, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not the same one. The one at the Smithsonian was a smaller replica.
