Eagle Scout

[edit]

I edited the reference to Ozzie becoming the youngest Eagle Scout because the Boy Scouts do not keep records of Eagle Scout's ages. Do a Google search on "Younges Eagle Scout" and you find that quite a few people have claimed this. But the BSA can't verify it.

I'm sure that Ozzie was a Scout, and was a young Eagle Scout, but there is no way to verify that he was the youngest. Finbar 00:31, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My father, Aloysius Bernard Cronin, born 2/23/08, lived in Hackensack, NJ and was a boy scout. Ozzie Nelson was a scout leader of his. They went camping at Bear Mountain on Friday nights. My Dad was the only Catholic in the troop and he couldn't eat meat on Friday. My Dad always packed a can of tuna fish for his meal on Friday nights. Ozzie Nelson made up the poem:

"Aloysius' only wish... That he could live on tuna fish."

My Dad also used to tell the story about how they hung their hammocks inside a pavillion at the park. Ozzie had been eating candies and discarding the wrappers onto the floor beneath his hammock. My Dad woke up in the middle of the night, and there was a skunk under Ozzie's hammock, licking the candy wrappers. Ozzie was dead asleep. Apparently, the skunk stayed there for some time, and my Dad was petrified that if he made a noise, that the skunk would get spooked and would spray all of them. He said he lay there frozen with fear for some time until the skunk eventually meandered off.

BTW, my Dad didn't think much of Ozzie.

Was he smoker?

[edit]

He died fairly young from cancer so I was just wondering. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.206.165.25 (talk) 06:15, 21 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

69 was not "fairly young" back then, and the vast majority of cancer deaths are not smoking-related. NellieBly (talk) 18:34, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ozzie Nelson album cover.jpg

[edit]

Image:Ozzie Nelson album cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
