Merge proposal

[edit]

Should we not combine this page with the overseas Filipino page they appear to duplicate each other substantially. It might be best if both search terms are directed to a single page (im not sure how to do this) Nickhk 01:30, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Nickhk[reply]

Edit revert

[edit]

Hi WayKurat, you recently reverted some edits on this page, and you explained that you were reverting edits by an IP vandal. Can you please clarify why you made this revert? Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 04:19, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The IP has been involved in several vandal edits as seen here, here, here, here and here. The edits they have added here may be also hoax. -WayKurat (talk) 05:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Number of people

[edit]

In the introductory sentence it says there are over 10 million filipino workers abroad. But then in the infobox on the right it says 2.3 million. I dont know if those are contradictory or refer to differently conducted statistics, to me its definitely confusing. Can someone correct/clarify these numbers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samaraner (talkcontribs) 11:19, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Samraner: I removed the sentence in the lead. "A qualitative study of Filipina immigrants’ stress, distress and coping: the impact of their multiple, transnational roles as women" was cited as the source but at least its summary says "The Philippines is one of the biggest export countries of labour, with over 10 million Filipinos working or living abroad" (which in turn was sourced from the Migration Policy Institute). However the figure seems to include the more general Filipino diaspora who decided to settle abroad long term. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 02:52, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
