The references used in the treatment options were not up to Wikipedia's standards. One referred to a menstrual pain website. Another referred to the non-peer reviewed alternative medicine dictionary. dermoid cyst

The discussion of dermoid cyst here needs rewriting. A dermoid cyst more often occurs outside the ovary, and histologically it is a kind of teratoma. That is medically important. This page needs to be revised to indicate that the ovary can have a teratoma, and that the teratoma can be a dermoid cyst or a struma ovarii, or a fetus in fetu (I know a woman who had one of these removed at age 6!), or another form of teratoma. Does anyone know the reference or source for this statement, found in the hemorrhagic cyst section? "Studies have found that women on tetracycline antibiotics recover 25% earlier than the majority of patients, a surprising correlation found in 2004." It's good to attribute the original authors of the work. repetetive overian cyst.16.11.07-a well defined anechoic cyst of size 6.7*5.3 cms is seen in right adneax.follicular cyst.uterus is normal in size with IUCD in situ. There is evidence of well-defined hypodence area of near fluid density measuring 4.8*4.5cms approximately in left adnexa. No obvious papillary projection or soft tissue component is seen. Note is made of small follicle in right ovary.

Factual Error in Ovarian Cyst article

The article currently states that '1% of ovarian cysts are benign.' This is exactly opposite of the fact. I believe it needs to say '1% of ovarian cysts are 'malignant.'

Please change this fact ASAP -- These false statistic could greatly concern anyone who is researching this topic.

Were does the ref say this?
