[edit]Thanks, User:Bkissin for identifying 3 sources which can be used to improve the article. I am especially glad to know about the 2004-05 architectural survey, although the version found is an incomplete draft, because it shows there was an effort to provide a lot more specific info eventually, while the original NRHP nomination document was skimpy. Early years of NRHP program did not require much documentation. The other two sources are good too. These are:
- Architectural Survey draft: Draft Survey Report 2004-2005 Architectural Survey of the Ouray Historic District (PDF). January 19, 2005.</ref>
- Opinion/editorial about preservation policy within district: atodd (May 18, 2017). "What may lead to the erosion of Ouray's Historic District". Ouray County Plaindealer.
- "Legends of America" (what is this?) Kathy Weiser-Alexander (May 2021). "Ouray, Colorado – Switzerland of America". Legends of America.
About AFC status, i think the topic is already clearly wikipedia-notable and the article is adequately developed already to be in mainspace, but I don't mind developing it more with these sources. By the way I rounded up a good number of pictures within Commons to put into the Commons category for the district. Previously it was hard/impossible to know which buildings in Ouray were in the district; the current article provides description of bounds of the district (distilled from a nearly incomprehensible description in the NRHP document) and link to a map outlining the district which wasn't previously known by me or others. --Doncram (talk) 00:40, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
