Solutions
[edit]re: alcohol + vinegar solution...
would white wine vinegar be ok to use? i tried it and it worked great, but i don't know about using it long term without having a second opinion!

whoever it was who edited the page got this tip from the hospital website mentioned at the bottom of the page, so it seems to be correct. --Ajcee7 13:44, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
i have a narrow ear canal so water gets clogged in there almost every time i go swimming. i have a white wine/alcohol solution i use. however, it's only useful for drying out the ear BEFORE the infection starts.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.108.233.164 (talk • contribs) 21:46, 28 June 2007
mild, moderate or severe.
[edit]Is it possible to quantify the disease as mild, moderate or severe. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.211.255.70 (talk) 14:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC).
Pictures?
[edit]This page contain a LOT of dry information. Could someone add a picture or something? Make it easier to read the whole page. Yongke 18:18, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
These pictures are gross and I'd like to be able to read about this without having to stare at that crap. Wikipedia's formatting prioritizes pictures so I can't even avoid it by reducing the size of the window. Can we cut it down to one picture and not have it at the very top of the page?2001:420:28C:1250:69ED:B2D7:DA5:D9AE (talk) 18:18, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
Cleanup
[edit]This article is getting clumpsy, would anyone clean it up a bit? --Esthaleida (talk) 09:21, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
This article seems to be taken straight out the textbook. For the most part it doesn't cite any sources, it's extremely redundant, and it uses a language that is almost scolding the reader for picking his or her ears. It's like talking to a doctor, and that's not encyclopedic at all. Do you notice how many times it mentions not poking the ear canal?
The article needs straight to the point sections: causes, symptoms, medication, complications, or something like that.189.175.213.233 (talk) 16:13, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I think the article is well written enough and has sufficient references so I removed the expert-subject and refimprove tags (they just clutter the page for any minor things). Sultec (talk) 09:18, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Pain
[edit]Damn right about the pain, this thing is killing me!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.226.1.229 (talk) 18:20, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Earphones?
[edit]I think I got this because I bought a pair of rubber in-ear earphones, which fit very closely to the opening of the ear-canal. Would any one agree these are a risk factor? Should something about them be added? Malick78 (talk) 10:53, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- I got it from wearing earbuds as well. 24.255.33.88 (talk) 18:51, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Bacterial VS fungal
[edit]can some one tell how to differentiate between ( fungal and Bacterial ) infection ?? (with pictures if applicable). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.52.173.30 (talk) 03:08, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Really? Really?!
[edit]Can I not look up a single medical condition on Wikipedia without being treated to a horrendous, atypical, worst-case-scenario picture at the top of the page? --Buddy13 (talk) 02:41, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
totally agree with buddy13 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.64.37.148 (talk) 15:20, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
