[edit]Why exactly would a mention of the Osmotherley Walking Shop be considered an inappropriate link, while all of the other village amenities are perfectly acceptable?
Does Húsönd know Osmotherley? If not, how can they be in a position to know which parts of the village are suitable for mention on Wikipedia and which are not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.32.118.96 (talk • contribs) 23:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Please read WP:EL for reference. Thank you.--Húsönd 22:40, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
The point here is that this is an article about a real place, not a concept, historical reference or theory. Osmotherley is a small community, and any useful page on that place should include links to the small number of shops in the place. This is useful valid infomation about the village. I can see the point in reducing the number of such links for larger places, where they would potentially overwhelm the page, but not for small villages, where the shops are a significant part of the community. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.102.33.42 (talk • contribs) 10:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Methodist chapel
[edit]Is the chapel at Osmotherley (1754) the oldest Methodist chapel in the world? The New Room at Bristol, built by Wesley in 1739, also claims that title http://www.newroombristol.org.uk/Default.aspx . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ioan Dyfrig (talk • contribs) 21:38, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
