Position
[edit]Rosell has played all his minutes for his club team at holding midfield. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.225.105.61
- It adopted the term defensive midfielder, not holing midfielder. In addition, he began his career as center back, being acting in that position sometimes.Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Holding midfielder is more descriptive than defensive midfielder and provides context for his role as a catalyst in the build up play, but I'm fine with leaving it as defensive midfielder. I cannot find any information anywhere that Rosell played at CB; I assume that it happened in his time with Barça B? However, he started every game for SKC as a midfielder. Even if the CB position can be cited from somewhere, it doesn't not belong in the opening paragraph. He is a full time midfielder now. 162.225.105.61 (talk) 21:30, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- In the youth teams and Barcelona B he acted as CB. Today he served in this position in the game of selection of Catalonia. So I guess most complete leave the two positions, as a defensive midfielder comes first. Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Birthplace / Regionality
[edit]Rosell self-identifies as Catalonian. He has stated that he will not even accept a call up to the Spanish National team, therefore his first sentence should read "Oriol Rosell Argerich is a Catalonian footballer..".
- Catalonia is not a country, so he is Spanish. Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Per MOS:Bio the context in the opening paragraph does not necessarily contain the country of birth, but instead contains the context that is most relevant to that person. In this case, Rosell has publiscilly stated that he does not consider himself Spanish, but Catalonian. Rosell's ethnicity being Catalonian provides much more context. I am going to change this one to Catalonian. 162.225.105.61 (talk) 21:22, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Here I do not know what to say. If we assume that Catalonia is not a country but an autonomous region of Spain, he is Spanish. However, I understand your argument at this point, since he considers Catalan and not Spanish. But realize that at the Catalans Spaniards are considered here in wp.Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)

However, he was born in the country of Spain. This is an objective fact, not subject to self-identification. Therefore his bio should contain "Born in Puig-reig, Barcelona, Spain"
- "Born in Puig-reig, Barcelona, Catalonia"... because here identifies the province of birth. this topic has been discussed here on wikipedia and this way is accepted. Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- That makes sense. However, since Catalonia is not a province but an autonomous region, would the correct way be just "Puig-reig, Barcelona"? I'll leave that one for you to decide. 162.225.105.61 (talk) 21:22, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- So here we left it as is, because this model is adopted in other players.Gringoladomenega (talk) 30 December 2013 (UTC)

National Team
[edit]Although not recognized by FIFA, the Catalonian team is a regional team that plays at the national team level. Rosell has been called up and capped. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.225.105.61 (talk) 20:38, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi there, from Portugal. Just to let you know i did not alter any of your hard work in my last two edits, merely cleaned it up and ordered the sections. In what concerns footballers, to give you an idea, generally the WP approach is CLUB CAREER first, then INT.CAREER, STATISTICS, HONOURS and PERSONAL stuff last (in this case, POLITICAL VIEWS is personal stuff). I also removed overlinking in the INT.CAREER section because FC Barcelona is already linked in the CLUB CAREER section.
