I undid the redirection given from the "Original Fila Brasileiro" page to "Fila Brasileiro" for the English pages.
The reason is simple: The Original Fila Brasileiro is a variation of the fila, based on specimens of an ancient phenotype, which is considered, today, a separate breed. Therefore, there is no point in redirecting the page as if they were the same thing. What happened with the "Fila Brasileiro", disagreements regarding the development of the breed, has already happened with other breeds, emerging "parallel" breeds.
The breeds recognized by international entities such as FCI are selected, the vast majority of them, based on appearance based on the racial standards of each breed and this has caused degeneration in many of them. Many breeders who use their dogs in a functional way, in practice, end up having dogs that differ from breed standards based on beauty.
Based on this, I redid the redirection, leaving the "Original Fila Brasileiro" as its own breed, with its own characteristics, different from the "Fila Brasileiro" version recognized by the FCI for the reasons mentioned above. CS1982 (talk) 19:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
