Perhaps there could be a page about the venue

[edit]

I have created the page Òran Mór and made it a redirect to this page, with its title without the accents on the letter O, and I have not attempted to use that title (with the accents) instead to write an article about the venue because I have too little knowledge of the subject. However, there may be a case for creating an article about the music and entertainment venue, although there is a risk that some people might consider it too insignificant, or too much like an advertisement for the place.

The place has its own website at oran-mor.co.uk of which the content is essentially marketing material. In 2011, the owner of the Oran Mor venue and long-running champion of the arts in Glasgow, Colin Beattie, commissioned a larger-than-life statue of the two comedians Chic Murray and Billy Connolly (who reportedly greatly admires Murray).

On 8 September 2019 BBC News website had a story about why Beattie has been unable to install the statue outside the venue. BBC page
