[edit]I've re-arranged this, to make it read better. I've also corrected some mistakes, and changed to english words, mostly. I can't see the point of a profusion of german words in the english language WP, particularly when they are just translations of the english words actually used in the links. Your opinion on Russian casualties is un-supported by any source, and the images you keep trying to add don't exist.
(At least, use the preview button, to make sure the change is what you want, before you save. You used 13 edits here to to make these 4 changes).
If you are not sure how to do something, ask for help.

I find the number 40000 German/Finnish vs. 10000 Soviet troops unlikely. I don't have any numbers myself, but descriptions of the operation do not inditate this 4:1 numerical superiorty. Does the author have any sources on his numbers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Latorgersen (talk • contribs) 16:04, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Battle result
[edit]Given that the result kept Murmansk in Soviet hands (which was pretty much all they wanted at that point), and that the Arctic north was pretty much the only sector in which Soviet forces managed to hold at the start of Barbarossa, wouldn't this be best described as a Soviet strategic victory, rather than stalemate? Seleucus (talk) 15:25, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Its a Soviet victory at the umbrella operation - Operation Silverfox. In this particular operation "stalemate" is a better description for the result. The German/Finnish main effort was anyway more in the south at Operation Arctic Fox. StoneProphet (talk) 02:02, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Spelling of name
[edit]I'm not going to edit anything but I'm pretty certain the 'Polyamy Division' should be 'Polyarny Division', meaning Polar Division in English. 62.63.44.248 (talk) 09:47, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thats surly possible. I took the name of the division from a book, but the author was not a Russian, so errors can happen. Do you have a source which deals with the operation, or the division, for that? StoneProphet (talk) 09:16, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
