Fence post error

[edit]

"The whole salvo took 224 seconds (3 minutes, 44 seconds) with a 14 second interval between launches." This is incorrect, an example of a Fence post error. 16 x 14 = 224, but product should be 15 x 14 = 210. Hamish59 (talk) 14:48, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The numbers are for sure rounded and the launch itself is not instantaneous. Simple math calculations do not apply here. 46.39.169.168 (talk) 10:43, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough; then the sentence needs to be rewritten to remove the "maths caclulation". So,
"The whole salvo took 224 seconds (3 minutes, 44 seconds)."
or
"The whole salvo took 224 seconds (3 minutes, 44 seconds) with approximately 15 second intervals between launches."
Question is: did the while launch take 224 seconds or was it 14 seconds between lanches and did someone make a mistake in getting the 224 second number? The two numbers (14 and 224) are contradictory, so which is correct? Hamish59 (talk) 11:54, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
