Thijl

[edit]

A good example to mention though (how well received? not sure) would be Jan van Gilse's 1940 Thijl, based on the Till Eulenspiegel legend (a 3 hour video exists on YouTube) (see this article about a 2018 production (in Dutch). His earlier Helga von Stavern was in German. There is an interesting site 401 Operas from the Netherlands that seems to contain materials about many of these (some but not all in Dutch) and could help expand this page. What about of Hermina Maria Dijk's Floris de Vijfde?

[edit]

Floris de Vijfde is an dutch opera by Hermina Maria Dijk, presented in Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam on 1851. 176.32.16.2 (talk) 17:22, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Dutch article nl:Hermina Maria Dijk calls her composition Floris V a cantata, and gives no further details, except to mention that is was written for her wedding in 1852. As usual, Wikipedia needs sources to include the material you suggest. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:16, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
