I'd recommend adding some sort of NSFW warning to the youropenbook.org link since the content comes directly from Facebook without any filtering. Hamster128 (talk) 20:14, 28 May 2010 (UTC) (one of the youropenbook.org developers)
- Interesting point —I've posted a cited NSFW potential warning. Even though my hunch is that workplaces which block Facebook perforce block Openbook, it's a warning worth citing. Furthermore Openbook hasn't been around that long, so there are probably workplaces which don't block Facebook which haven't blocked Openbook yet because they haven't encountered its raw output yet. (Mine blocks it for being "tasteless and offensive," which made my day.) How are the opening pages generated, BTW? At random? kencf0618 (talk) 17:24, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Any time limit?
[edit]Does it only go back a certain number of days? Tisane talk/stalk 00:45, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like the underlying Facebook search api only goes back 20 days. --Hamster128 (talk) 20:03, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Openbook (website). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Relationship to openbook.org
[edit]Leaving this here rather than editing the page because I was involved with running YourOpenBook and so I'm not sure if I should change the page directly. I'm not aware of any attempt to move the domain to openbook.org, and the fact that openbook.org shortly thereafter became a foreign exchange website makes me think that we just let the youropenbook.org domain expire and someone snapped it up to redirect it to their business. Does anyone have a citation for the claims around the openbook.org domain? rictic (talk) 05:27, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
