RedDot

I believe at least 2 separate people have made additions to this list (myself and at least one other). It is not just issues for one implementation. The software has inherent flaws e.g. bundled text editor accepting non-compliant tags. These would be clear to anyone who uses the product. Yes some comments are based on lack of understanding or training in the product but others are to do with ongoing issues that have been outstanding for many versions of the product.

I think the reference to RedDot should be completely removed. It was one of almost 50 acquisitions and a small one compared to the $1.26b transaction of EMC/ECD. IXOS, Hummingbird, the HP departments etc were all way bigger than the little red dot. Scooter de (talk) 03:00, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Acqusitions

@Isingness: You further removed some acquisitions from this article. Don't you think it's worth including at least the acquisitions that have existing Wikipedia articles (and thus presumably satisfy notability guidelines)? -- intgr [talk] 08:54, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

If they are sourced, sure. Those were not sourced to WP:RS. Isingness (talk) 13:27, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
As a further specification, a company's own website or press releases don't count as proper sources. Isingness (talk) 15:01, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

IXOS Software AG

Not sure why IXOS got removed, it is one of the largest aqusitations OpenText made in 2003. OpenText Archive Server (now Archive Center) comes from IXOS
