Merge
[edit]This page might as well be merged with the collective investment page. Simon West 09:03, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed. Its been 3 years and no-one has objected, or got around to a merge with Collective investment scheme yet. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 13:57, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- One big reason for a merge is that this doesn't mention the current fashion in open-end funds, the exchange-traded fund. This article is clearly not being maintained. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 14:02, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- A merger would only work if closed-ended fund was also merged - and that page is much better. The preference would be to improve this page instead, if anyone is willing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Westmorlandia (talk • contribs) 15:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Disambiguation
[edit]Considering that searching for 'open ended' leads to this page, it really needs to mention the disambiguation page at Open-ended. --68.184.56.57 01:11, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Change to intro
[edit]I've just savaged the intro, but I think to good effect - in particular, it had lots of material not specific to open-ended funds; not all open-ended funds offer to the public; shares, bonds etc are not "vehicles"; and investors emphatically do not have any equity interest in the underlying securities - even "effectively". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Westmorlandia (talk • contribs) 15:47, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
