How is Łukasz Opaliński (1581-1654) related to the others?

His article has info on his parents and children. I am not sure I follow your question? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 23:08, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The relationships among the others are clear, but I couldn't figure out how Łukasz-1581 is related them. His father is Andrzej Opaliński, apparently his grandfather is Maciej Opaliński, and great-grandfather is Piotr Opaliński.
Oh! Here's a connection: Andrzej had a daughter Zofia Jadwiga OPALINSKA, who had a daughter Katarzyna LESZCZYNSKA, who had a daughter Teresa Konstancya CZARNKOWSKA, who married Krzysztof Opaliński. But that's going the wrong way; there must have been a patrilineal ancestor from whom Lucas got the family name — maybe Jan Opaliński?
By the way, Lucas' daughter, Katarzyna Opalińska, is not Jan Karol's daughter Katarzyna Opalińska.

Feel free to correct this; for now I will stub his father on en wiki, from pl:Andrzej Opaliński (marszałek wielki koronny). Some useful generalogy sites: [1], [2]. Based on that, this seems to be the first Opaliński (Piotr Opaliński (?-1507)), the one who has adopted/been given this name (his father was named Bniński).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:24, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! And here's the other line. So Łukasz Opaliński (1581–1654) and Jan Opaliński (1546-1598) were third cousins. But it looks like Piotr Bniński was the one who changed his name; all his children are Opalińskis.
Poking around further, Łukasz(†1654) and Jan(†1598) are second cousins, being great-grandchildren of Mikołaj Lubrański(†1524).
