Contradictory information in Background

The first paragraph in Background has an account by the song writer in 2012 explaining its origins. He said then he was thinking, in 1979, among other things, of a girlfriend, Christine, who had died some months earlier.

The second paragraph has an account by the song writer in 2017 that he was thinking of two different people who were in London in 1979. But the account of one of those two, Sandy Gandhi (who had died in 2017), is that she was not in London until 1980.
