Fair use rationale for Image:Supercop 2.jpeg

[edit]

Image:Supercop 2.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Once a CopSupercop 2 – Clear WP:COMMONNAME. The second most-used title is "Project S", while "Once a Cop" is very rarely used. 94.3.180.110 (talk) 19:32, 7 December 2019 (UTC) Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:52, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Supercop 2"?

[edit]

Screen Rant considers the film the spin-off of Police Story series. The real sequel to Supercop is First Strike. Somehow, western distributors marketed the film as "Supercop 2". Well, the film follows Michelle Yeoh's character from Supercop.

Hype (Malaysia) calls the film "Once a Cop". AV Club emphasizes more on the title as well, despite including two other alternative titles.

One 1994 review calls the film both "Project S" and "Once a Cop"; so does BBFC (UK). One book uses "Project S" as primary title and the current title as alternative. Another book uses "Project S".

Which other reliable sources use either "Supercop 2" or "Project S" or "Once a Cop"? George Ho (talk) 05:32, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Turns out that Hong Kong theatrical distributor Golden Harvest uses "Supercop 2" in Chinese on posters. Maybe that would help the titling case, yet I'm still stunned by marketing tactics. George Ho (talk) 08:23, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
