Re: Omar Maute
[edit]Can someone check and verify if Omar Maute is actually still alive as he was mentioned in the article on the February 2016 Butig clash as having been killed in action in that operation? Also there are still mentions of the "Maute brothers" in the media coverage of the Marawi crisis. Thanks--RioHondo (talk) 08:50, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
Split this article into two different articles.
[edit]- I suggest that this article should be split into two articles named Omar Maute and Abdullah Maute since:
- 1. Abdullah and Omar Maute are not born on the same date;
- 2. Since presumed dead, there are no verification if the brothers died on the same date.
- Mark_Jhomel (talk) 12:10, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- 1. Abdullah and Omar Maute are not born on the same date;
- Strong Support - They are 2 different people. Also, one is probably dead, while another is possibly still alive, according to official sources. LightandDark2000 (talk) 13:41, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose - the two are almost always referred two as brothers or a pair in references and the media, per WP:COMMONNAME. If in the future the one brother who is possibly alive receives more distinct coverage than the one that is possibly dead I would consider changing my !vote. Inter&anthro (talk) 17:07, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Strong Support - Being two different people, it would be more proper if the two were split. Also, Omar Maute died already, although Abdullah Maute is still probably alive. Itsquietuptown (talk) 04:27, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- Split done. — •KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ• Speak! 02:29, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Presumed Death Template
[edit]- The addition of the RDP template to this article is not violating the template's documentation. The template documentation expectations are met because:
- 1. The death of Maute Brothers are only presumed.
- 2. The article are edited by a numerous amount of users per day.
- 3. It is not meant to use to advertise nor confirm the death of the brothers.

- @Mark Jhomel: Yes it is. Activity levels do not warrant use of the template, besides, it's no longer recent. - FlightTime (open channel) 12:54, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- @FlightTime: Got it sir. Mark_Jhomel (talk) 12:56, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
