I removed excessive external links in the "Works" section and made them into footnotes where appropriate. I also made the minor edit of correcting the misspelled "Department" in the first reference. 3005shdh (talk) 16:43, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Notability tag, taking a look at the article I see the following possible criteria for establishing notability (from WP:Notability:
- I count at least 5 awards (1 international) in the "Works" section, plus two honorary doctorates
- Mitchell is described as being "IFEBP Professor," which seems to be a named appointment at the University of Pennsylvania, which is a major American university.
- She's described as serving on the Bush administration's "President's Commission to Strengthen Social Security," and as a part of government should count as work/influence outside academia.
Does anyone else think this establishes notability? 3005shdh (talk) 14:28, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I do. I also have no connection with Professor Mitchell other than having studied her work and I think this article is fine. 67.173.10.34 (talk) 19:35, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Larry Siegel[reply]
I added recent (2009-2011) books to the list of publications, and I updated the link to Professor Mitchell's CV (available on the Wharton website). In what specific ways should the article be modified to improve its neutral point of view? Statements asserting her prominence in the field are supported by external references (e.g. citations for awards). In the interest of full disclosure, I am an employee of the Pension Research Council, and work with Professor Mitchell. Btr773 (talk) 14:23, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
