This was the first Olivetti computer in which documentation was written simultaneously in both Italian and English. The English documentation was not a translation of the Italian. I write this as this as the writer of the English documentation.Abenr (talk) 22:21, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]2.5" vs. 8" floppy disk 8-16 KB RAM vs. 48 KB RAM something seems to be copied from somewhere else to no good Ghoffart (talk) 18:58, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Ghoffart: It says "alongside the smaller P6040 that stored data on proprietary 2.5-inch mylar floppies called Minidisk (3 KB)", so there are two different machines. I can assure you that the P6060 did have 8" floppy disk drives; there were two - one for what was termed the "systems disk", the other for your data disk. This photo shows the floppy disk unit (to the right of the printer) in its raised position, exposing the slot for the systems disk (indicated by two red dots to its left) with the slot for the data disk (one red dot) near the top. This photo shows the floppy disk unit in its normal position, only the slot for the data disk is exposed.
- As for the RAM, this was expensive at that period: 4 KB might cost $100 or more, so it was common for systems to be designed so that the cheapest model had a minimum amount of RAM, which could be upgraded when necessary (or when funds allowed). The Apple II was another example - you could buy one with almost any amount of RAM (in 4 KB steps) up to 48 KB. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:21, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
