Work and Peterson and systems

[edit]

The two books overtly by Work and Peterson, publ. by John C. Winston Co. of Philadelphia in 1933 and 1934, were the last two new titles by Milton Work afaik. See Milton Work#Selected works, which is intended to be complete for titles (not editions) of books and pamphlets.

We list one other book by Peterson. (We list what I found by internet search. The obituary bridge column by Truscott says she wrote four books but doesn't name any.) Namely, Common Sense Contract: Featuring the Goren System, which is interesting to me both for naming "the Goren System" and for repeating the "Common Sense" of two late Work works (also published by Winston).

P.S. The LC catalog record LCCN 31-1060 names two "joint authors" Ralph Reed Richards and Walter Forestus Wyman, whom I don't recognize and we don't name at Milton Work#Selected works.

Vaguely I recall reading of some "common sense system" or systems in another context, not bridge.
