czarist military?

[edit]

I don't see how he could have served as a captain in the Czarist military, as he was only 15 when the Czar and his family was executed. There is no note of this in the Russian article. I'm removing that comment. Avram (talk) 22:00, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

demise?

[edit]

Article doesn't say. Was he just one of the many who perished during the siege of Leningrad? 82.13.80.62 (talk) 23:01, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article says that he died during the siege. What is your concern? Avram (talk) 23:09, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw an article the other day that mentioned that he had died of starvation. Unfortunately, I lost the link. If I can find it again, I'll post it here.

Ah, found it: http://www.orc.soton.ac.uk/fileadmin/downloads/100_years_of_optoelectronics__2_.pdf

It states "eventually dying of hunger in 1942 during the blockade of Leningrad"
