Biased Editing

[edit]

This page is heavily biased in favor of the FDA/OCI. I am a freelance writer who is interested in researching criminal justice issues within the United States. After coming across various reports of potential abuse within the FDA/OCI, I was shocked to realize that their Wikipedia page nearly read as an advertisement for the agency. After having edited the page and citing the sources from which I drew my information, I later discovered all but a few of my edits had been deleted, and those that remained had been altered to give a more favorable impression of the agency. The FDA/OCI has important job to do, and I by no means intend to malign it. The fact remains that the agency has come under scrutiny on several occasions, and given that many people unfamiliar with the agency will most likely go to Wikipedia in order to better understand it, it is important that the page provide an objective an unbiased view of the institution, reflecting both its commendable characteristics and flaws. Were the less savory facts concerning the FDA/OCI to be ignored, that could only enable further abuses and hamper any attempts at reforming the agency to enable it to better preforming its duties. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8805:8100:910:5555:EB71:900B:BDD0 (talk) 01:52, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
