The OED lists attestations of Odinism from 1822 to 2000. Interestingly, in the 19th century references, it appears simply as a synonym for Scandinavian paganism. In a 1904 reference, Odinism is used in the sense of the cult of Odin in particular, in competition with the cult of Thor. Perhaps significanlty, there is no reference between 1904 and 1988, and in the 1988 and 2000 references, the term is reserved for neopagan revivals. --dab (đł) 09:12, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
