Name of city--origin
[edit]If someone expands this article, someone should write about the name. The name Ocho Rios means Eight Rivers in Spanish, which would imply eight rivers somewhere, but in fact there aren't eight rivers. I understand it's a corruption of Los Choreos, Spanish for The Rapids. Someone visiting comments on "los choreos," and the name somehow stuck. But I haven't got a citation for this.

- The corruption of "rapids" in Spanish was also told to me as the name's origin on a recent trip of mine. Can I not cite my tour guide? ;) --147.226.191.103 (talk) 16:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Point of grammar/usage
[edit]The article says: "Fed by springs located in the hills above, visitors take pleasure in 'climbing' the falls as the water rushes around them."
I sincerely doubt that the visitors to Ocho Rios are "fed by springs."

- 140.147.160.78 won't see this, but they were being a bully and a schmuck. The meaning is obvious, but the grammar is wrong. --Thnidu (talk) 23:02, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
