Bandhs

[edit]

The article mentions four bandhs: borkhed bandh, lodeshvar bandh, margiya bandh and favta bandh. While "bandh" is a organized protest (see Bandh), is is more likely that the word "bandh" is the Hindi word "बांध" meaning "dam", sometimes written as "baandh". Now there are three nearby villages that are named Borkher, Lodeshwar and Fawta, but I couldn't find a reasonable match for "margiya". There are four nearby dams, although none of them are in the Obri gram panchayat. They are (1) in Borkher on the Moran River at 23°39′55″N 73°54′57″E / 23.66528°N 73.91583°E / 23.66528; 73.91583 which is called the "Lodeshwar Bandh", (2) 23°37′51″N 73°52′48″E / 23.63083°N 73.88000°E / 23.63083; 73.88000, (3) 23°39′22″N 73°51′58″E / 23.65611°N 73.86611°E / 23.65611; 73.86611 which may be in Fawta and (4) {Coord|23|39|59|N|73|51|50|E|display=inline}}. Based on the supposition that the reference is to dams, I have deleted the sentence as it is extraneous to Obri. --Bejnar (talk) 21:26, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
