[edit]While I am not sure it meets wp:V, partly because it might be a bit difficult for the average editor to fact check and as it is likely a self-published source, I light-heartedly hope that we get away with it. It is a great old place, and I am glad to see it reopened.- sinneed (talk) 02:41, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- This is now well-sourced due to NRHP listing.Unfriend14 (talk) 18:10, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Advertising for the local press/media
[edit]The article already carries a needs-sources flag, from 2009. I think I remember that there was coverage in the regional press about the Gazette hitting some important year count of publishing... but I don't see it and can't imagine why the local media is newsworthy (notable) enough for inclusion, in general. Each would certainly merit its own article, if so.Unfriend14 (talk) 03:12, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
Burrell - added and removed
[edit]- Rep.Roy Burrell,State Representative Dist.#2 Louisiana (Running for Mayor of Shreveport, LA.) - was added, no article, no source. I removed it (with a bad edit summary). Needs either an article or a source to show "notable".Unfriend14 (talk) 20:58, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Notable persons bloat
[edit]One of the problems with these sections is that they bloat. And bloat. And bloat. We could include Elvis on this page because he used to come up highway 2 headed to Memphis from points south and west, and mentioned OG in a song. I don't agree with the change to "notable people". We could include everyone who ever heard of OG and was notable. Please consider pruning the notables section. I am going to revert the section change.Unfriend14 (talk) 19:26, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
- Removed the section, as a proposed edit, after the section name change was made again. Perhaps interested editors will join the discussion.Unfriend14 (talk) 22:55, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
- Section was restored yet again, without discussion. Removing.Unfriend15 (talk) 00:05, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Propose removal of the citations article tag
[edit]I propose to remove the citations-needed article tag. For a small article, it seems quite adequately sourced. Any objections at all, and we can of course leave it, but it is untidy and does not seem needed at this point.Unfriend15 (talk) 15:23, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- There being no interest either way, I have made the edit. Easily reversed if any disagree, but please do add a note here as to what is needed. Pretty Please. :)Unfriend15 (talk) 04:27, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Moved without discussion
[edit]This article was moved, and a disambiguation page was created... pointed to by a disambiguation page. I have added a note to the created Oak Grove, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana page as it contains no sources. I am moving the article back. I don't think an "other uses" is needed... I will add a See also link for the Lincoln Parish Oak Grove. Any concerns? Thoughts?Unfriend15 (talk) 14:10, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Main image
[edit]It remains unclear to me why a main-street scene of down-town Oak Grove is not a good image for the article. The town hall and the welcome sign are nice... but... the main image for the town? I am going to put one of the main-street images up as the main image.Shajure (talk) 15:42, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
