The paragraph I added re Andrew Bloxam is sourced to Storrs L. Olson, who is a noted expert on the birds of Hawaii. So I have basically restored the reversion by User:Melly42, although I have clarified that (a) Bloxam's diary was not published at the time (b) Gould produced the first published description. I think it is important to note that the first specimen of this bird is the one purchased by Bloxam in 1825, and Bloxam's comments in his diary are useful indicators of the then occurrence of the bird.
