Rob Ford photo

[edit]
Mayor Rob Ford press conference at Eglinton Avenue and Victoria Park, advocating for a subway near the site of the proposed LRT station

I was tempted to remove the Rob Ford photo due to personal bias against his transit policies. But, should this political item be in a stop article? However, since we have decreed that the O'Connor stop is part of the Toronto subway system, I changed the caption from "Mayor Rob Ford press conference at Eglinton Avenue and Victoria Park, advocating for a subway near the site of the proposed LRT station" to "Former mayor Rob Ford in a 2012 press conference, near the site of the future O'Connor stop, advocating (unsuccessfully) for an underground subway instead of surface LRT". I think the way it's written, it needs changes, as it borders on non-neutral. But having looked at the article, there's nothing in it that discusses the perennial Toronto "to subway or not to subway," or Ford, so I think it's fair to take it out. —Joeyconnick (talk) 20:40, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that the line got built as LRT is important to the entire story of Rob Ford's politics, the TTC, and the Eglinton line. The fact that he was making a speech at the site of this station has some historical relevance. Your inclusion of "unsuccessfully" is redundant. It looks like a split decision whether to keep or delete. So, I will move the photo lower in the article to a less conspicuous location, remove the word "unsuccessfully" from the caption to mask bias, and add a new lead photo of the site. TheTrolleyPole (talk) 00:23, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't see why the photo is needed in this article which makes no reference to the subway vs. LRT debate, or to Ford. It would be fine to include in the main Line 5 article (if it were backed up by relevant/related prose and sources) but it seems extremely out of place here. —Joeyconnick (talk) 01:02, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
