Plans for this page

[edit]

I was just curious if there was certain foods that cause certain disorders such as ADHD and anxiety. I know there was broad categories, but is there something specific that triggers it more or less? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benisaibisevic (talkcontribs) 21:17, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! My name is ZackNU and I am working on this page for a school project. I plan to add several sections, including overview, origins, objectives and applications. I hope to contribute substantial information to each of these sections in an effort to effectively expand the page. I will be uploading my work in pieces, beginning next week, so that I can gauge reactions and edit efficiently.

Edit #1

[edit]

I was able to move my first edits into the main page to begin the transition. I added several sections with a small amount of information in each, in order to provide more background on the subject and lay down the groundwork for expansion. In doing so, I created a table of contents. I also added a Psychology infobox on the page to create a connection with other articles in the same category. I will be continuing to add to each section in the coming days in the hope of providing much more information.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Overall, this article is useful in gaining an overview of Nutrition Psychology. It states the basics to get an understanding of the topic. I think more work could be done to create a more detailed article. Jaefle (talk) 15:28, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Jaefle[reply]

definition is original research

[edit]

The definition of nutrition psychology consists of the non-trivial combination of two (sourced) definitions:

Nutrition is defined as, "the act or process of nourishing or being nourished; specifically: the sum of the processes by which an animal or plant takes in and utilizes food substances"[1]. Psychology is defined as, "the study of mind and behavior in relation to a particular field of knowledge or activity,"[2]. In this case, the particular field is nutrition. Therefore, nutrition psychology is the study of mind and behavior in relation to the process of taking in and utilizing food.

The problem lies in the use "therefore and what follows. Following this approach the most ridiculous combinations with psychology could be made. E.g. if we are talking about the behaviour of black holes we could create an analogues definition "black hole psychology". This is a serious problem as a google search for "nutrition psychology" does not provide any reliable source on the first page that defines the term unambiguously [1]
So it appears that this whole article is about a Wikipedia created term. That will simply not do in my opinion. Arnoutf (talk) 15:33, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

evaluation

[edit]

I also think this article is well written and useful for the topic. There could however be more information added. Added components on the topic would be useful to have a larger understanding. More detail is needed overall in this article.
