Gender

[edit]

This article emphasizes the phrase "opposite sex" an awful lot. Plenty of Nuru massage happens between same gender/sex pairings. CouplandForever (talk) 01:03, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Content added

[edit]

I corrected some errors in text and i added some new facts and a few references. I think that Nuru massage is pretty well-known and there should exist an article on Wikipedia about it. There are no really good references about Nuru because it's really erotic massage so there are no serious research about it :) It is short article, but i really don't see what else should be added. It's editors decision, but i think there is no reason to delete this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.94.244.1 (talk) 12:15, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A massage technique from Kawasaki, really?

[edit]

I know that most of the stuff in this article is sourced but most of the sources also seem to be articles related to Western erotic massage parlors. Are they really reliable? I'm not an expert by all means but I've read that these kinds of massage parlors do exist in Japan, it's only that they are called "soaplands" and the massage is called "sumata". They are not exclusive to Kawasaki nor in any way originating from that city, but are instead found all over Japan. According to the Google Translate, "slippery" or "smooth" are not "nuru" in Japanese, but something completely different. "Nuru" could however mean "to paint" or "to coat" something, so there might be some kind of connection. Google searches also chiefly point to Western pornography and Western massage parlors, not anything associated with Japan. So, I suspect that this "nuru massage" is primarily a Western invention practiced in Western massage parlors/brothels and that is only loosely based on something actually going on in Japan.
