Deliberate split

[edit]

The article is about Nursing Homes (FACILITIES, FACILITIES, NOT A HOME, NOT HOUSING, NOT HOME CARE).

The additions were on the Facilities in the Community as specified in the first section. If you use the word Home Care then you are doing all community services as belonging to the nursing industry. Home care initiatives are not Facility Initiatives in the US, but separate set of initiatives. Everyone has a right on wikipedia, but I'm taking back the entire article from whatever the retitling is. JARacino (talk) 17:14, 17 August 2014 (UTC)JARacinoJARacino (talk)[reply]

This article was deliberately split off from Nursing home care because the original article had become too US-Centric. The huge article here represented about 90% of the total article, all shuffled around. Student7 (talk) 19:22, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The US system is unique at the Medicaid federal funding gates compared to other nations, as Medicaid is considered a poverty health care financing gate. It is fine to separate by country all areas which may wish to report all its institutions such as psychiatric in the process of transition to community (in the US Supreme Court Olmstead Decision, the world on the UN Declaration of Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities); other countries had a unified departmental system, too, not completely separate state departments and separate industries and civil service workforces involved. All have been reticent to identify their workforces which is a growing sector in the community (Larson et al, 2012 in Racino, 2014, in press). Intermediate care facilities (almost all ICF-DDs, formerly ICF-MRs) are not the nursing home industry in the US which kicked off the nursing home edits.JARacino (talk) 13:15, 17 August 2014 (UTC)JARacinoJARacino (talk) 13:15, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Two serious omissions

[edit]

It seems to me there are two serious omissions in this article. First, there is a long history of documented quality and safety shortcomings in US nursing homes and, second, those shortcomings have been tied to the high COVID death toll in US nursing homes (see also GAO and AARP reports). --Mox La Push (talk) 06:11, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
