[edit]The definition is very unclear. It refers to two DNA sequences, then proceeds to use I and j to index some large number of sequences. There is confusion about sequences vs nucleotide sites, and about the definition of the x values.Tedtoal (talk) 07:13, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

- I agree with Tedtoal that parameters should be clearly defined. It might be good idea to define as pairwise differences between all alleles over all pairwise comparisons over length of region:
