hpoytetical adaptated species

[edit]

Theoretically, if there was a nuclear summer/winter, would it be posible for some higtly(spelled it wrong) adaptable species or creature(rodents, possibly?),to not only survive harsh condotions of the nuclear wasteland(radiation, powerful doses of UV radiation and so on), but also evolve and/or mutate, in such a way that they would accustome to the aforemantionded hazardous elements, and (over time) create a wole new family of creatures immune (or even symbotic to) radiation, with the possibility to further evolve into intelligent ape/human-like species and maybe even create a culture similar to that of the mankind? I know, it sounds like Sci-fi and it´s all whacked, but what do you think about it? 85.207.122.65 22:49, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's whacked. It doesn't happen that fast.Mzmadmike (talk) 03:23, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree its probably whacked, but what about species that have extremely high generational turnover, like fruit flies? With lifetimes measured in hours or days, you could get many dozens of generations in a fairly short timespan. Just a thought 71.197.183.28 (talk) 01:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Davepl[reply]

Tagging for Deletion

[edit]

Less than 70 Ghits for "Jon Roland" "Nuclear Summer." First two pages of "Nuclear summer" are nothing but band references and pop culture. No search results on Amazon's first page for the name and book in question. I'm tagging this for deletion. It is not an "hypothesis," it's "an idea some kook put in a book a couple of decades ago that has no scientific support or interest whatsoever."Mzmadmike (talk) 03:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's a self-published paper, from a person without particular credentials in the field. I've deleted it.   Will Beback  talk  11:54, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If nuclear summer does happen, it better wipe out mankind or it'll happen again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.240.127.128 (talk) 07:59, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
