[edit]I'd like to see the plane, the cockpit from pilot's POV, and the remote control panels too. 99.39.5.103 (talk) 15:55, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Model 335 Vs Firebird
[edit]The Model 335 shouldn't be combined with the Northrop Firebird. Although it is about the same plane, they have many differences and should be separate. Since this is combining them, the number made should be 3. NightmareEvan (talk) 18:20, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Do you have a reliable source for the number built
? Also as the Firebird is (presumably) the 'production' 335, having them in the same article is appropriate. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:06, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I have a reliable source. I live around Mojave where the 2 Firebirds have been since retired. I fly out of the airport all the time and I see the 2 Firebirds sitting next to eachother. Also, wouldn't that make the number built 3, then? Since the model 355 and the 2 Firebirds?@The Bushranger NightmareEvan (talk) 23:47, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- You are not a reliable source as defined by Wikipedia. You're conducting original research. You need a published source (not self-published) to establish these facts in the article. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:49, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info.
- I see. But then Wikipedia would have the wrong numbers. NightmareEvan (talk) 01:28, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia only reports what reliable sources have published. If no reliable source has published the 'correct numbers', then Wikipedia will have the "wrong numbers" until a RS publishes the correct ones - that is (for better or for worse) just how it works. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:09, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, this was my first edit on Wikipedia so I want sure how things worked. If I did find reliable sources, then would it be acceptable to change the number to 3? Scaled 355, and the 2 Firebirds NightmareEvan (talk) 09:41, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- It would, yeah! - The Bushranger One ping only 01:57, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry to bother once Again but where would I cite the change? Would it be in the final summary? NightmareEvan (talk) 22:47, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- You cite it in the article. WP:REFBEGIN is a good guideline to referencing. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:59, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- You will need a reliable source - which has specific meaning on Wikipedia - personal knowledge doesn't count, and neither does Google Earth shots that appear to show two aircraft together. You would need to have sourcing that says that the Model 335 and Firebird(s) are different airframes.Nigel Ish (talk) 10:34, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
