Epilogue

[edit]

The accounts below were told by Veakchiravouth. For Veakchiravouth's parents' accounts, they were told by his parents.--KentNewland (talk) 12:38, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

These points are more related to the father than Ekcharin:

  • International Institute (Hong Kong branch) took them under their care while staying in Hong Kong. The Institute have nothing to do with helping them migrating to Hong Kong.
  • While in Hong Kong in the late 1970s, Yuvaneath applied for refugee status to migrate to USA. He got rejected on the first try but accepted on the second try.
  • After migrating to USA in 1980, the family continued to be supported and looked after by International Institute (USA branch)[1] for the next 2 years. Yuvaneath also worked there for a short period of time as translator.

These points are about Ekcharin impersonator:

  • He was born in Thailand on 29th April 1974.[2] He moved to Sweden in 1982 at the age of 8. Then he moved to Cambodia in 2013 at the age of 39.[3] He maybe can speak a little Thai but very fluent in Swedish where he lived for 30 years.[2]
  • He was assisted by a person named Norodom Viravong[4][5] during Charin's process of migrating to Cambodia from Sweden. Back then, Charin presented himself as the son of Norodom Viravong. Later on, Charin ditched Norodom Viravong and decided to persue Norodom Yuvaneath as his alleged father.
  • The Ekcharin impersonator originally presented himself as Charin. Then he changed his name to Veakcharin to imitate Yuvaneath's first born son's named Veakchiravouth. Later on, he changed his name again to Ekcharin after finding out Yuvaneath's second son's full name. Charin is the nickname that Norodom Yuvaneath and Tea Kim Yin normally used when mentioning their second son.
