Notability

A couple more references show regional and national newspaper coverage identifying Houghton's contribution to the history and development on NSW rice irrigation farming. I believe this meets the general notability guideline WP:ANYBIO, as "a person who is "part of the enduring historical record" will have been written about, in depth, independently in multiple history books on that field, by historians" In this case the coverage in the main regional paper devoted to the irrigation industry The Murrumbidgee Irrigator, which might be considered the main source for documenting the history of western New South Wales irrigation.Garyvines (talk) 02:17, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
