what is a BPR project? Unsigned question apparently dated 2006-07-21 from 159.212.112.113
A: Business Process Reengineering project (as explained in the article).--Boson 21:00, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia an example of non-linear management and better than Brand X?
[edit]Wikipedia is a strong example of Nonlinear Management in practice. Recent comparisons with a traditional encyclopedia suggest that lack of centrally-controlled supervision has not produced lower quality content - quite the opposite, in fact.
I think we need a source for this.
What comes to mind is the Nature article, but (if I recall correctly) that showed that serious science articles had an average of 4 errors in Wikipedia articles and only 3 errors in the standard reference encyclopaedia it was compared with. I think it is a good result for Wikipedia, especially if you take other factors (and other encyclopaedias) into account, but (unless I am mistaken) Nature's comparison was very restricted; so my opinion would be an unsupported POV.
Since it is only an example, perhaps it would be simpler to alter the statement. --Boson 21:00, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
PS: Having read the Template Talk discusssion on the proposal to delete the "fact" template and the recommendation to be sparing in its use, I decided to add it anyway since the article actually refers to a specific (but unnamed and uncited) comparison. An unverified statement may be OK, but I think you have to give a source if you refer indirectly to a specific article.--Boson 21:26, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Intelligent Design vs. Evolution
[edit]"There is a marked similarity to the Intelligent Design vs. Evolution question, as one side firmly believes that order must be imposed from above, while the other believes that it can emerge quite naturally with little or no intervention from management."
- Is this relevant? Surely this is POV, and, seems to me to misrepresent both types of management style - no one would use Agile to build a bridge, for example. It also skews the argument in favour of whichever side you favour already - it's weasley, as well as spurious. If no one has any objections, I'll remove it.Iainspeed 20:12, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's a great statement, but it's definitely not encyclopaedic. Deleted. Joe (talk) 16:56, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Can someone justify the "WP is an example of NM" claim?
[edit]Like quite a bit of this article. Tony (talk) 06:51, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
