Thumbpicking Hall of Fame
[edit]On Friday, September 27, Nokie was inducted into the National Thumbpicker Hall of Fame posthumously under the Deceased Thumbpicker Award. This just happened as of this writing, so I don't know where to add this or what to cite. Awkwardtechdude (talk) 01:37, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
Nokie Edwards was not on Deadwood
[edit]The article claims with no citation that Edwards was on the TV show Deadwood. IMDB has no acting credits for Edwards, only for soundtracks. In their pages for Deadwood neither Wikipedia nor IMDB has any mention of Edwards. The unnamed character described in this article seems to be Charlie Utter who was played by Dayton Callie. - I decided to move the apparently false section here. It's both specific and vague which seems odd to me. But then I'm new to this.
- ==Acting career==
- After accepting an offer to pursue an acting career, Edwards landed a role on Deadwood, an American Western drama television series. Edwards played the mysterious friend of Wild Bill Hickok and a local citizen, who serves as a bridge between the villains and heroes of the show. During production, Edwards temporarily relocated to Santa Clarita, California and lived on the set's location with his wife Judy. Glendonwjones (talk) 13:42, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- It is true, and I've added a reliable source to the article that mentions his role. IMDB, while quite expansive, is not comprehensive. FWIW, I have seen photos of Nokie on set in character/makeup as well, but those are from primary sources, hence why they can't be used as citations. You can read more about citations in the WP:CS policy, and how to handle claims without citations (often we avoid deleting them outright at first, and instead tag them as needing a citation, with some exceptions).
- Also, welcome to Wikipedia! Here's a bit of a starting guide to hopefully help you out.
