Why does Nodoka have a page?
[edit]Out of curiosity, why does Nodoka have her own page while a more important character, such as Setsuna, doesn't? - —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.242.175.18 (talk • contribs)
- Because Setsuna is not an important character and has less character development. Nodoka happens to be more established. Think about it - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 10:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Its actually simple: Nodoka had enough information on her page to allow for the creation of a seperate page. Setsuna, with all her character development, doesn't really have that much either storywise or on the Wiki character page for the other students. If Setsuna gets more information, she may be eligible but for the moment, I don't see it. -StrangerAtaru 13:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Akamatsu has himself stated that Setsuna and Konoka stand equally in importance to Nodoka and Asuna. Even Yue comes close to 'the Four Major girls' (Please also note that Eva, who has her own page as well, isn't listed among the four majors). But despite all that, if you want my unbiased opinion (I'm personally a fan of Konoka and Setsuna), I think that Chao Lingshen easily deserves her own page. Her space on the 'Characters of Negima 16-31' seems far too large to not merit a page of her own. It takes up too much space as it is now. Some girls have enough information to warrant their own page. WickedKnightAlbel 00:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- From what I've seen, Chao probably has enough for her own page, but some of the other girls who could get it (Konoka, Setsuna, Yue, even Ayaka and Chisame) really don't have a massive amount to really help their cause like the three who pretty much had the most information in the Wiki and thus now have their own pages (Kagurazaka, McDowell, Miyazaki). If anyone wants to try and make a page for them, be my guest and I'll see what I can do to help add to them. In the meantime I think I'll at least start a Lingshen page and see where that goes. -StrangerAtaru 01:06, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
While I am pleased that Chao got her page, I still do believe that Konoka and Setsuna both deserve a page of their own, based on statements by Akamatsu himself. Though the rest (Ayaka, Chisame, Yue, ect), as you say, likely haven't been developed enough to permit a page by Wikipedia's standards, Konoka and Setsuna, by author opinion, could very well support a page each. I mean this by the 3-A hierarchy of importance, that these two take precedence over the others, based on story-line driven facts.
If the wiki community will permit it, I'd like to make a page each for them. I'll do everything within my power to keep it as neutral and objective as possible, and even call on assistance in it's growth and maintenance. WickedKnightAlbel 05:41, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well mission accomplished. I still don't think there's too much compared to the others with articles and that a lot still needs to be added, but we officially have a Konoka Konoe article. Any other suggestions? -StrangerAtaru 19:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Akamatsu's Statements
[edit]As stated by: WickedKnightAlbel

I'm curious on his statements. That material may be useful, especially regarding out-of-universe information. KyuuA4 04:02, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think one reason why none of us were able to make these pages before is based a lot on the information on them. The Wiki stuff really didn't become more available until the Festival, so most of the character development and actions prior (including the early arcs, Eva, Kyoto, Herrman and the early part of the Festival) were never really added. Thus why I've had to add a lot of stuff in order to make these pages. As I see it now, here's where I think we stand regarding the pages:
- Created: Asuna, Chachamaru, Konoka, Setsuna, Chao, Chisame, Eva, Nodoka, Ayaka
- Could Have a Page With Some More Info: Yuna, Yue, Ako, Ku Fei, Haruna, Makie, Kaede
- Nowhere Near a Page At This Point: Sayo, Kazumi, Akira, Misa, Misora, Madoka, Sakurako, Mana, Chizuru, Fuuka, Fumika, Satomi, Natsumi, Satsuki, Zazie

- I've noticed that scouring the Italian Wikipedia, I'm surprised that they don't even have info on Negima!? Also, I hope anyone of you can help me provide info on any differences in the live-action version (we'll call it Parallel), especially in the individual articles. So far, the only input I can give is Chamo (I've even included a picture of him). - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 14:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Other Renditions
[edit]For the sake of NPOV, how about a more "neutral" section title? Something like, oh, "Anime". This inquiry applies the other characters as well. Scouring the Internet, I'm aware of the "malice" particularly towards the Negima!? remake, as demonstrated by the semi-protect reason to Nodoka. I'll check how to handle story variation regarding characters from other series. KyuuA4 04:07, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Lucky you though of it. I don't know how to do it myself. I hope everyone helps. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 14:10, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- I probably can help, but I guess the problem of neutrality is one I never really got around to figuring out. Heck, I'm lucky I was able to make the adjustments to the Ayaka page when it needed footnotes. -StrangerAtaru 14:25, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I created a new section for Nodoka's page regarding a non-fiction perspective involving a more external approach. If this works, I may start doing it for all the articles so we won't have the "in-universe" problem again. -StrangerAtaru 12:59, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just in case, if it does work, you can first do that on Evangeline. She also got that "in-universe" problem recently. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 13:41, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Citing the Manga
[edit]It's OK to do that. Yet, as far as sources are concerned, some variety is also encouraged. KyuuA4 07:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Not sure how to edit citations, or if this is the correct way to disscuss, but the citation needed for the comparison to Shinobu should be towards the back of Negima 6, on the title page gallery for the back cover of 1. Hope I helped!
