Hello @Monkeylady999:. Genres on Wikipedia need to be sourced by reliable, third-party references that explicit describe the song as that particular genre. It is not about what you think the genre is as that would fall under original research. You would need to locate a source that explicit calls this an R&B song. Please do not make this type of edit again unless you have an appropriate citation to support this information. All the citations that I have found have connected this song with hip-hop and not R&B. For further information on identifying reliable sources, you can look at this resource. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Aoba47 (talk) 20:31, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I read through the FAC nomination debate for the article and found a recommendation to remove the song's chart section. I understand that the chart section is "unnecessary," however I believe that every Wikipedia article about a song should include a chart table section. It's unusual for this song not to have a chart section, especially since it hit the main UK Top 100 charts. I strongly believe that the chart portion should be reinstated to comply with the algorithm, and I do not believe it would have any negative impact on the article's FAC status. @Finesse2Starz: Thank you for the message. Articles generally do follow a similar structure, but it more so comes down to what is considered the most beneficial for each individual case. You may believe that every Wikipedia article about a song should include a chart table section, but that is just your opinion. This is not rooted in the WP:MOS. As you have already noted above, another editor disagrees with you on this, and they were able able to support their argument with evidence from the WP:MOS. I would not have an issue with including this section if a consensus, ideally one with a stronger argument, forms for that. We all have a personal preference, and while I understand and appreciate what you are saying, I believe there should be a stronger argument made to support this proposed change. I do not believe there is a negative impact for this article to not have this section. Aoba47 (talk) 00:18, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
