Questionable claim

[edit]

I found in an article in the Asian Tribune a statement to the effect that Nini Stoltenberg has been a prostitute. In none of the Norwegian source material I have sifted through so far has there been any mention of this. I suspect this statement to be unreliable and even incorrect. I would need a second reference to corroborate the claim before I would recommend inclusion in the article. It should be emphasized that the Asian Tribune article merely mentions Nini Stoltenberg in passing. __meco (talk) 15:48, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As it turns out, the assertion comes from a letter from a reader of the mentioned publication, and Nini Stoltenberg in fact explicitly states that she has not had to protitute herself (Samtiden article). I believe this puts any question about this to rest. __meco (talk) 07:15, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does the article need copyediting?

[edit]

An editor has tagged the article with a needs copyediting banner. I cannot myself see what this would refer to, so perhaps some explanation for this banner could be given? __meco (talk) 08:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed edit

[edit]

In this edit some changes of the text are introduced which I tend to disagree with:

  1. sometimes television personalitytelevision personality
    • I believe most Norwegians would not think of her as a television personality because her appearances have been relatively few and the bulk of them was a decade and a half ago.
  2. Like her two elder siblings she had many radical friends, partly also their friends. → (removed)
    • I think this is information which is pertinent, it provides a wider context for her background, and should be reinstated.
  3. where she remained for several months, to her parents' great despair. → where she remained for several months
    • Since her parents' reaction is attributed to a reliable source (a feature article written by four journalists) I see no reason for its removal.

Cause of Death

[edit]

Is it appropriate for an encyclopedia to remain vague? She succumbed to an illness. What illness? It is not mentioned because it is not known (I could not find any information in English searching the internet)?
