Why is this protected? The link needs changing to List of Big Brother housemates (UK series 7). --LorianTC 21:54, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Moved
This needs to be moved to a list of all the Housemates from the Big Brother 7. If Nikki continues to make appearances in the media on a regular basis, then she should merit her own page. Alot of the information in here is clearly biased as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hedphunk (talk • contribs)
- She has her own TV show, is that not enough? As for it being biased, how is it? --Alex (Talk) 14:48, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think it is biased in the slightest. Everthing in it is factual, or has been alleged in the press. All statements have been backed by soruces.Gungadin 14:57, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Agree with you, Gungadin, you've done a good job here and on the Princess Nikki article. --Alex (Talk) 15:15, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- it's one of the most ridiculous articles on WP. Mostly gossip , an article about a non-entity with a t.v "show" . clap trap!
- Thanks Alex. To the other user - It's unfortunate for you, but not every article on Wikipedia exists merely because you like or dislike the subject matter. Most articles about so-called celebrities have a large proportion of press based material, as they are one of the only verifiable sources editors have on the subject matter. If you feel there is a large amount of 'gossip' included then highlight areas for improvement so anyone interested can ammend, or edit it yourself. As for being biased, I see no evidence of that. There is no positive or negative opinion included in the article, just stories that have been featured in the press, which have been included as they are relevant to the subject matter. Again if you think there are biased statements then alter the wording, or highlight areas of concern so others can alter it instead. Gungadin 16:02, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
"Everthing in it is factual, or has been alleged in the press."-alleged-exactly. I also thought it interesting that you brought up the point of Nikki being liked/disliked. I actually like Nikki! The point I am making about it being biased is that alot of information about Nikki's time in the House is missing, this article seems to also want to portray Nikki as an Actress-I don't count a walk on part in Eastenders being an Actress. If it was, can we please start making Wikipedia articles about every single extra ever been on TV?
Also, a point I would like to make, is that while in the list of Housemates Nikki's second eviction and her negative response is mentioned, in this article, it is completely ignored. This was one of the main points I found that made it biased. Please will people not attack me because I sought to make the article more fact based, and not so hung up on highlighting every single piece of tabloid rubbish printed about Nikki. If you want to do that, fine, but don't attack me please.
- My last response was not directed at you entirely, but to the other poster calling this article clap-trap. Nothing in my response was offensive anyway and it wasnt an attack, i just disagree with it being biased. Feel free to edit the stuff about Nikki in Big Brother to include a more positive/negative edge if you like, so long as everthing you put in is sourced and not your own opinion then no one can argue against it. I guess I probably wrote the majority of this article and the reason I didn't include anything about other elements of her stay in Big Brother is because it states on Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother that " Information about their time in the Big Brother House, unless it was controversial or received media attention, should not be in housemates own articles." - so I was trying to include only the controversial elements not included in the list of housemates article.
- It wasnt me who added that she was an actress in the top synopsis but regardless, she is not getting her own article because she was an extra. This information is just a small piece included in her history and someone feels that this means she was a former actress - change it to "former extra" if you think that will be more appropriate. It is fine to include press allegations so long as they are stated as such and not fact and so long as they are sourced, which they are. If allegations are later proved to be incorrect then that can be added after, or the statements can just be removed Gungadin 20:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
OK Cool.
Actress?
She appeared on Eastenders and Footballer's Wives before BB? So we can safely say that she is an actress (without in any way implying that she is a good one!) and that Channel 4 can't have been unaware of this. Adambisset 15:58, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I think Channel 4 would have been aware of this, as they do thorough research into each Housemate (although obviously not with Shahbaz!) But I don't think that it mattered that Nikki had been on these shows as they were simply walk on parts and she did not to my knowledge have any formal acting lessons etc.
Rewrite
It seems to me that this whole article needs a rewrite. I am an Aussie looking in and have been following Nikki since Big Brother UK 7 started. I have also under taken a lot of research including searching the web, youtube, purchasing magazines, news clippings and have viewed every available torrent download of Big Brother 7 and Princess Nikki. I would love to give an independant view and rewrite the whole article. I find Nikki is an absolutely fasinating character but am a junior as far as wikipedia is concerned and will not attempt an edit until I understand the rules. Bluegroper.
- Please, be bold, and go ahead and do it! --Alex (Talk) 14:32, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, I have much to learn and will do it.--Bluegroper 15:06, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Notability
Nikki Grahame has been voted out, she was a great contestant love her or hate her (i personally LOVEEEE her) she was a brillaint housemate and is up there with the gods such as nadia, jade goody and chantelle, she NEEDS her own page.
So this is the state of the modern world, that a spoiled brat ex-hooker gets a page on wikipedia - very very sad indeed! She doesn't NEED her own page, what she NEEDS to do is disappear quietly and be replaced by someone who actually has some kind of talent for something!
1.Nikki has recieved massive media attention since her exit from big brother. 2.Nikki fronts her own TV show Princess Nikki which recieved excellent ratings. 4.Nikki recieved a National Television Award for her appearance on Big Brother. 5.Nikki is a household name, and love her or hate her, she is famous. 6.Nikki is a face for people who suffer from eatings disorders. As people have said here, she is an inspiration for people who suffer from eatings disorders. 7.Just because YOU hate someone (you seem to have a fondness for stressing your points in capitals so I thought you would relate) doesn't mean that the page should be removed.
In Summary: Nikki may be spoilt, and yes, she may have once worked as a prostitute, and while this may be relevant to you, it is not relevant in these circumstances. Yes, the modern world of Celebrity may not be as it once was, but times change and so should you. You obviously searched for Nikki, so you obviously expected to find her article.
On a side note, if it was you that edited my post then don't do it again.Hedphunk 13:07, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Give it a year
And we can remove this entry as no-one will know who she is anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.129.80.234 (talk • contribs)
Nikki has international interest (I'am from Australia). I find it fasinating that a girl who can suffer Anorexia Nervosa for so many years, and rise above it all and go on Big Brother even though suffering from OCD can become so popular. The article should include more information with her struggle with Anorexia Nervosa. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluegroper (talk • contribs)
Unfortunately, alot of what we read cannot be actually confirmed, so until it can I don't think it's a good idea to put it on here unless Nikki herself actually confirms it's true. Certian aspects may have been embellished and may affect the overall authenticity of the article. On an of shoot, I do think something should be mentioned in the article about the backlash from some mental health authorities about Nikki being allowed to go on BB in the first place, as this was mentioned alot in the Media. I know it mentions her histrionics but Im not sure if it does mention this. Hedphunk 12:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- (removed from above paragraph)(because what she says really is to be trusted, isn't it? god help us!!!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.11.80.36 (talk • contribs)
Its a shame that some people here want to conduct a personal crusade to have the page removed. The information here is of great benifit to those of us who do not live in the UK. Nikki speaks quite openly about her experience with anorexia on the Richard and Judy show after she was evicted the first time, thanks to youtube I was able to view it. Winning the National Television Awards tells me she has become more popular, despite some negative press, even beating the winner Pete and winners of other reality shows. She certainly remains of interest to me and I will follow her career with great interest, page in wiki or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluegroper (talk • contribs)

- I've moved that edit down a paragraph to make it clearer who said what. It would probably also help if anyone making comments here signs their post by typing ~~~~ which automatically changes to a link to your user page. For now, I've added {{unsigned}} tags to show who made which comments. Tra (Talk) 22:29, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi, yeah thanks for adding the sigs, I was wondering how you do it. Are people allowed to just edit someones comment like that? Hedphunk 12:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC) P.S-Now added my sigs. Hedphunk 12:01, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Generally, people are not allowed to edit other people's comments, except for removing things like libel, personal attacks, personal information etc or to add an {{unsigned}} tag. I added those by going to the page history, seeing who added which comment by looking at the diffs, making a note of their usernames, then adding {{unsigned|username}} at the end of each post, replacing username with the author of that post. Tra (Talk) 18:46, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah ok I understand. Shame I can't find out the user as it angers me that they feel the right to edit my post like they did. Nevertheless, thanks for the help. Hedphunk 13:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Image of heat cover with Pete on it
Ive removed this image Image:PIKKIHEAT.JPG of Pete on a cover of heat magazine, because from what I gather it isnt fair use to use magazine covers unless they are discussed in the article. Its inclusion doesnt really add anything to the article and seems a bit superfluous. It also looks a bit messy as there is not a great deal of space for such a large picture and it seems more appropriate to put in the Pete Bennett page as it portrays him on the cover and not Nikki. If someone wants to re-add it then something about the interview or magazine should be included in the written text of the article to tie in with fairuse. Gungadin 17:15, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
GA on hold
OK, I've looked at this article and made a few points below. I am putting it on hold for up to 7 days in hope that you'll have time to fix them. Fluffball70 09:05, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
The lead paragraph should be a little longer i.e it should be a paragraph covering the main points of the article. In this case I believe it should cover something of her mental health issues and her history.See WP:LEAD.
Reference 1 doesn't source her birthdate or full name, but covers the other infomation in the sentence, therefore it should really be located after Princess Nikki outside the full stop. - We are still missing a reference to her birthdate.Fluffball70 08:02, 9 April 2007 (UTC)I referenced her birthday + birth place, but there seems to be no online reference (apart from this page) that confirms her name as Nicola Rachel-Beth. I removed this until someone can supply a reference. do you still need a reference next to the name if it is just says Nikki Grahame?
The article says very little about her early history, such as the reference that states '....going to Northwood secondary school in Hillingdon, Middlesex. While the 'Early life' section has improved there is a lot of infomation that has not been referenced. e.g. Where does it say her sister's name and 'Happiest Ever'?Fluffball70 08:09, 9 April 2007 (UTC) - Done (hopefully)
Reference 9 doesn't mention her being a promo girl as required in paragraph 1 of the Career section. - It still doesn't!Fluffball70 08:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC) Done (Hopefully)
- In paragraph 1 of the Big Brother section, I can see no references to Histrionics
or Pete Bennett. An inprovement, but as she is a living person any non-referenced items are libelous. Fluffball70 08:17, 9 April 2007 (UTC) Hopefully done, but i'll await your aproval on how you define histrionics.
I can't see any references to the statistics and data provided in paragraph 2 of the Big Brother section, such as 'eventually evicted on Day 58 with 37.2% of the public vote', being voted to the House next door etc, etc. - Still looking for this one!Fluffball70 08:21, 9 April 2007 (UTC) done
Paragraph 2 of the Big Brother section is too long and should be split.
All of the infomation given in paragraph 4 doesn't seem to be covered by Reference 11.
Reference 12 has gone dead, but it should probably be added at the end of the line. Or can another reference be found?
Reference 14 has disappeared too. :(
I see no references to her being voted the most annoying person of 2006, or the most written about.
Reference 17 has also disappeared.
Reference 23 is also dead. I know it's not strictly necessary for GA as you have access dates, but please can you can try and find better sources for the dead references? As this is an Article about a living person the references have to be extremely verifiable and correct.
They should all be complete now, i'm officially sick of the sight of this article ;) Gungadin 19:08, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Sick of the article? I totally understand! Putting it on hold again. Plase make sure everything is referenced. Fluffball70 08:30, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- no offence, but you are expecting references for entirely trivial, non-libelous information, which is mentioned several times in the many references already on this page anyway. Ive never seen such scrutiny for a GA before and it is a little over the top. it isnt an FA review and it didnt even get into trouble regarding references when someone nominated it for that. It says her sister's name in reference 6, along with the other information from the paragraph. If you are now deciding that you want references to be placed within sentences, then this is contradictory to what you meticulously ordered on your last critique "it should probably be added at the end of the line". The "happiest ever" quote is in reference 3 at the end of the paragraph (along with the other info from the paragraph) and as for "histrionics", well this is defined as a deliberate display of emotion for effect, which is what a temper tantrum is. The reference says " despite her frequent temper tantrums", so it should be adequate, unless you are claiming that tantrums aren't histrionics.
- I agree that the name and birthdate should be referenced, but I dont know who included this info, so I cant help with that. I will nevertheless do as you ask for the rest. Feel free to let me know if you want more references. I dont think the word "The" was referenced in paragraph 4 for instance.Gungadin 13:45, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, because this a biography of a living person WP:BLP it subject to additonal rules, namely the references have to be really good. Fluffball70 22:01, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- No activity on this thread in over a week, this article's hold period expired. I am failing it per the above concerns. IvoShandor 07:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry it looks like the last comment was never addressed. The on hold period expired days before I failed it, you can either, contact the reviewer, decide if WP:GAR is appropriate or renominate it. It doesn't look like you made any effort to contact the reviewer once this thread went stale, at least do that and make sure everything is up to par. As a note I would first eliminate any one sentence paragraphs or short paragraphs (I see one in the lead for example). Good luck with the article.
IvoShandor 08:03, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
1 or 28?
Is Nikki's birthday 1 April or 28 April? I see both being mis-matched and changed around in the article. Geoking66 02:58, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, but at the moment there is 2 different dates on the page, one in the intro and one in the ibox. I will change it to April 1st as per IMDB for now, but if someone has a source for April 28 feel free to change it, but please cite the source next to the date in the intro so no one can dispute it again. Gungadin 22:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- IMDb isn't a reliable source so a better one will need to be found. I suggest we just put "April" until we know for sure. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 01:34, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
In Heat Magazine 16-29th December 2006 page 116. Nikki states her Birthday is the 28th April. She was asked a question about when she knew she got into the house and her reply was "On My Birthday 28 April". Nikki's MySpace [1] States her star sign is Taurus which would support the 28th April.--Bluegroper 21:10, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ok I will add an offline referece for heat magazine for now and change it to April 28. seeing as this has actually been published it is more reliabe than IMDB. But if anyone finds an online relaible source then please replace it. Do you know who did the interview so I can add it to the ref? Gungadin 15:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- The Heat Magazine interview was done by Lucie Cave.--Bluegroper 14:10, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
It's better to leave it as just "April 1982" on the main article. It is important to note that the official Big Brother website gives her starsign as Aries which would support the April 1 date. I also just want to point out that on Day 1 of BB7, the housemates were talking about birthdays. Nikki said something about April and then Richard called Nikki an "Easter baby". Doesn't Easter always fall on late March - early April??
OK I have on good authority that Nikki's birthday is in fact the 28th April 1982. Investigating through Ancestry.com you can find the BMD reference for Nicola Rachele-Beth Grahame, Mothers maiden name Hearne, District Brent, Volume 11, page 1494, quarter april/may/june. A Princess Nikki forum member sent away for her birth certificate and confirmed her birthday is 28th April as Nikki stated in her heat Magazine story. This information is in the public domain and anyone can seek her birth details from the General Register Birth deaths and Marriages in London with the reference I just quoted. Its not on line but I am changing the date to the 28th April 1982 on her page. I dont Know why the Big Brother website listed her star sign as Aries but Nikki has listed it as Taurus on her MySpace.--Bluegroper 15:48, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- As this article is currently under review (see below), I have removed Nicola rachel-beth from the start of this article. The reviewer requires this particular information to be verifiable, and as there is no online source to confirm this, I removed it for the time being. If someone has a verifiable reference that this is her name, then please reinclude it, but please also place the reference next to the name, so it can be verified. Unfortunately it isnt good enough just to say that a princess nikki forum member has her birth certificate.Gungadin 19:49, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- The reference for her full name, Nicola Rachele-Beth Grahame, is the England and Wales Birth Index, 1837-1983. It's available on several websites including ancestry.co.uk and findmypast.com. It says she was born in Brent. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, can you add a reference to it on the main page for ↓↓↓ ?Gungadin 18:18, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- I can't add a specific online reference as both those sites require registration and I'm not sure the actual page with her name on can be linked to. Therefore the best reference I can give for this is simply "England and Wales Birth Index, 1837-1983". — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thankyou for verifying that the reference I quoted was correct from Ancestry.com. I can assure you that it is the 28th April. No one else has to prove their birthdate what do you have to do post her birth certificate? The article in Heat the date Nikki quoted of the 28th is correct, I assume she knows her own birthday. There is no online reference. Wikipedia would have been very embarrased for posting the 1st April as its not her birthday. --Bluegroper 14:23, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

In support of Nikki's birthdate there is now this reference [2] Which is the WENN Photo Gallery of Nikki celebrating her birthday on 28th April. The "England and Wales Birth Index, 1837-1983" index shows her registered name , and her birthdate hopefully will be mentioned in the media to provide an online link once and for all. --Bluegroper 14:28, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Do we have any real proof that she is doing it? the ref thats there is only of an online chat.--Hiltonhampton (talk) 21:42, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- No she doesn't have any plans of doing it. She was on a live chat at Virgin Bingo in September 2007 [3] her fans asked her about the rumour and while saying she would like to do it there is no truth in the rumours. I also know it not to be true. --Bluegroper (talk) 15:04, 2 February 2008 (UTC). For proof read the transcript of the live chat search for eurovision.
- K, I removed it. It was all unsourced anyway. I'm also going to remove her salary, unless a source can be provided then it shouldnt be there. Gungadin 22:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree her salary is what she makes from her OK magazine column, magazine photo shoots and various TV appearances and Lipsy association, therefore her salary is not fixed and is variable. Her Occupation of Reality TV Star should be changed as she is actually Reality TV Star/Magazine Columnist. In 2006 she wrote a column for MORE magazine for 6 months, in June 2007 she wrote a Big Brother Column for OK magazine and from the end of BB8 till present day writes a celebrity column in the Hot Stars Supplement of OK Magazine. --Bluegroper (talk) 13:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Highly dubious
Most of the references in the section referring to her anorexia link back to an article in the UK's The Sun newspaper, which is barely (and I do mean barely) a reliable source. Reading down the article that is cited (number 7), much of it smacks of being exaggeration and bullshit, in keeping with a tabloid article. I don't doubt she had anorexia, but can the article read 'Grahame claimed that...' rather than citing outrageous medical and weight claims as encyclopedic fact, particularly since the information comes from an interview conducted by a journalist with her, not a reputable third party. --JulesVerne 22:06, 26 August 2009 (GMT)
The Sun story is true and Nikki has also told her story on countless TV shows, radio and magazines, evidence of all this exists in writing, video and audio on her website http://nikkigrahame.info (changed from specialnikkigrahame.com) but the most importantly in her own book "Dying To Be Thin" the forward section was written by Dr Dee Dawson who is a medical director of Rhodes Farm, a clinic which cares for children with sever eating disorders who verifies everything Nikki went through. Also I believe it is common knowledge in the UK and should be encyclopedic fact! Bluegroper (talk) 16:21, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Nikki Grahame. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20070222072227/http://www.bicommunitynews.co.uk:80/79/bimedia.html to http://www.bicommunitynews.co.uk/79/bimedia.html

Edit warring
Hi All,
I have protected the page due to edit warring over which image to use in the infobox.
Please discuss it on this talk page and try to come to a consensus.

Use of 'stones' as a unit
I've noticed that stones are used in this article instead of pounds. Is there a reason for this? Sungodtemple a tcg fan!!1!11!! (talk) 17:51, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- Because the subject of the page was British, obviously. Nick Cooper (talk) 17:57, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- 'A number of different definitions of the pound have historically been used in Britain. Amongst these were the avoirdupois pound and the obsolete Tower, merchant's and London pounds ... Historically, the pound sterling was a Tower pound of silver.'
