Route of water from Chelker Reservoir to Bradford

[edit]

Chelker Reservoir is lower (about 229m) than Chellow Heights (about 250m) so it would have to be pumped if it went there (via Nidd Aqueduct which passes Chelker under pressure in pipes - Wharfe Syphon), water can run out of Chelker by gravity in Barden Aqueduct which passes through Chelker to Graincliffe Res (originally Heaton Reservoir, does it still go there after treatment at Graincliffe or does Barden Aqueduct split before Graincliffe?). Route I have seen for Nidd Aqueduct shows outflow branch into Chelker (The Engineer vol 119 March 12th and March 19th 1915). OrchardLeaf (talk) 01:49, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
