GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Fairly well written. A few concerns:
  • In "Nick and Sharon": "In May 2005, 14-year-old Cassie is killed in a car accident. Nick becomes distant from Sharon, and is unfaithful to her with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). The marriage ends the following year; Nick moves on with a pregnant Phyllis, who gives birth to their daughter, Summer Newman (Hunter King)." Needs rewording. "Unfaithful" isn't a good term to use for this sentence; "Nick moves on" also isn't a good phrase to use; perhaps "Nick leaves Sharon for a pregnant Phyllis", etc.
  • In "Summer's paternity": "During an interview with TV Buzz on May 27, 2013, Morrow admitted that Nick would be devastated by the test outcome; finally confirming that Summer is in fact not his daughter. Nick is terrified of the potential repercussions and the reactions, from Jack, to Sharon, to Noah, and most importantly Summer." Needs to be completely reworded. The sentences are slanted towards recent events, while everything should be kept in historical perspective (example, on May 27, 2013 -> in May 2013). TV Buzz should be in italics as well. "Finally confirming" is not a good phrase to use, perhaps the following sentence (or something resembling it): "Morrow admitted that Nick would be devastated by the paternity test outcome; confirming Summer is in fact Jack's daughter. He stated that...", etc.
  1. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  • Looks good; all of the sources are reliable and verifiable; good job.
  1. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Fairly well covered as far as focus.
  2. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  3. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  4. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
A small concern in "Summer's paternity": I understand that the character Summer has been the subject of soap opera rapid aging, so saying "Hunter King plays Nick's legal daughter, whom he raised for 18 years without proper confirmation of her paternity" would mislead unsuspecting readers to believe that the character was raised for an actual 18 years. In conclusion, the caption needs rephrasing in that part, perhaps mention no years at all, perhaps just "whom he had raised without proper confirmation", etc.
  5. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
By looking at the overall state of the article, I see that it generally meets the GA criterion and has the look a GA should have. However, my concerns above need to be addressed first. After they are, I will return to pass/fail the article. Cheers, --Brick House 337 01:24, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
